Note from the founders.

We built Fearn because we lived the problem. Previously, I drafted and prosecuted patents for one of the best law firms in the world. But most of my time was eaten by formatting, boilerplate, and mechanical tasks that were all billed to the client by the hour. Little time remained for the most human-centric responsibilities. 

On the flip side, Angela and I were once PhD students at a top technical school. The pace of scientific research was rampant and all-consuming, and anything otherwise—such as talking to lawyers—seemed unimportant. Only in hindsight did we wish we had devoted more of our time to protecting our innovations. 

Fearn was born out of our experiences from both these worlds. Our vision is to create a universe where scientists and engineers can protect what they’ve built, at a pace equal to that of innovation. From this, we see a reshaped industry—one where the energy of both legal and technical experts recenters on the most creative aspects of their professions.
